Help & Support
Are you having problems with the MyLocalGov app or do you need some help using it? Check out the frequently asked questions below.
If none of the questions below are useful please contact us. If you're having problems with the app, please let us know the make and model of your phone, as well as any error messages you see.
Why isn't reporting available for my council?
If you're unable to report issues using the app it's because we haven't got enough information from your council to enable the reporting feature or they've chosen not to use it. You'll need to report issues to your council using their website or by telephone.
Why can't I see news, events or Councillor details for my council?
We can only enable features that are supported by your council. If some features aren't available for your council please contact them directly - they'll need to request that these features are made available.

When will my council be available on MyLocalGov?
We're adding councils all the time. If your council is not available yet the app will ask you to enter your email address and we'll send you an email as soon as your council is available. We'll announce new councils on Twitter, make sure you're following us @MyLocalGov for all the latest updates.
Why can't the app find my council using my location?
The app attempts to use your device's location to work out what council area you're in. If this process doesn't work, it's usually because your device isn't allowing the app to find your location. Check your settings to make sure location services are on and ensure that MyLocalGov has permission to find your location. The app compares your location to the boundary information for local councils in the UK. You can search for your council manually by tapping "Search" and entering part of the council's name.
Why does the app have adverts?
Adverts help to keep the service available free of charge for local councils in the UK. Some councils may pay for additional features in the app including the removal of adverts. If you're from a local council you can read more here.
