    If you provide information by contacting us through the website or by email, we will only use the details you provide to contact you directly in response to your message.

    We will never sell your details or pass them on to any third party, except when you submit details to a local authority by sending a report using the MyLocalGov app.

    If you send a report using the MyLocalGov app we will pass your details to the selected local authority. The selected local authority will handle your details as if you'd contacted them directly. For further details, see the applicable privacy policy on the selected authority's website.

    Mailing lists

    You may subscribe to a mailing list when using the MyLocalGov website or app.

    If you subscribed to emails from the MyLocalGov service there will be a clear unsubscribe link in each one, which will immediately remove you from the relevant mailing list.

    Location

    The MyLocalGov app captures your location when you send some types of report. Your location is sent to the selected local authority when you send a report using the app. To prevent your location from being included in the report, be sure to press the "Enter postal address" button. You'll only see this button if your location is due to be sent with the report.

    The MyLocalGov app checks your location periodically to determine what local authority area you're in. Your location is transmitted securely to the MyLocalGov server to look up your current authority based on the area you're in. Your location is not saved or used for any other purpose.
